MEDICAL CITY MCKINNEY (MCM) is a growing 260-bed hospital with a 90-year history of serving the health care needs of McKinney and the surrounding communities. Over the past several years, MCM has strengthened its medical foundations by adding two new surgical robots, a newly remodeled labor and delivery suites, a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and an advanced biplane Catheterization (cath) lab to treat heart rhythm disorders. Medical City McKinney will be expanding its services to the community with the addition of a new off-campus emergency department at 380 & Custer in 2015.

The DIET CLERK reports to the Director, Manager and Supervisor of Food and Nutrition Services and is responsible for the following:

Process, modify, collect, and check patient menus for each meal, updating menus with most current information to assure compliance with dietary modification and restrictions.

Maintain effective communication with patient and family. Ensure patients are informed about diet and additional food item availability.

Maintains computer systems with accurate and current data.
*

Participate on tray line at each meal service, checking trays for accuracy.
*

Interpret diet preferences and contact dietitian as needed.
*

Receive, store and maintain food and office/supplies in an orderly and sanitary manner.
*

Assist in maintaining all kitchen utensils, equipment and physical surfaces in a safe and sanitary manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

* High School education / GED
* Previous work with food in an institution or hospital facility is desirable.
* Food Safety Certification-must be obtained within first 30 days of employment.
