The largest medical facility in the region, Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) includes a full-service hospital with 318 patient beds. It serves as the region's healthcare hub, serving southeast Idaho, western Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park and parts of Montana. EIRMC is home to a Level II Trauma Center, a Level 1 ICU (of only two in Idaho), and the only Burn Center in the state of Idaho. Our ER is the most experienced in the region. The hospital's other specialty services include the region's only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit capable of caring for babies born as early as 22 weeks gestation; the region's only Pediatric Intensive Unit, the largest heart program in the region, a Behavioral Health Center which is a74-bed Joint Commission accredited psychiatric hospital and the region's only Primary Stroke Center.

UNIT ASSIGNMENT: Emergency Room
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

*The Patient Care Technician (PCT) delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living.

*Under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), the PCT assists the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the PCT's skills/training and the needs of the Department, and consistently assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment.

*The PCT complies with all hospital policies/procedures and observes the State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS QUALIFICATIONS:

* American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification (offered in new hire orientation)

* Certification certified nurse aide training program, maintain current listing on the Idaho Nurse Aide Registry.

* Non Violent Crisis Intervention Training within 6 months of hire/transfer and successful completion of hospital and departmental mandatory education and training.

* This position requires proof of high school graduation or equivalent to preform Nova-Stat testing on patients.

* Must have sensitivity, maturity, and ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.

* Prefer candidates with previous experience in acute care setting
