DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

Our Applied Technology organization puts some of Motorola Solutions' brightest minds on unique, highly challenging projects. Our Applied Technology Finance team is responsible for budgeting, analysis, accounting and compliance activities. This includes annual budget and plan preparations of sales, costs, cash flow, funding, inventory, receivables, capital, etc. There is also continuous financial reporting, forecasting and analysis, monthly accounting closes, audit and compliance with the FAR and CAS, timely communication of business results and identification of trends, risks and opportunities.

JOB DESCRIPTION

* Monitor the various financial aspects of actual vs plan vs outlook

* Review monthly costs to help ensure project and overhead charges are properly stated

* Review financial and operational reports for relevance and accuracy and continuous improvement

* Help support compliance and audit initiatives

* Build and maintain scorecards to help communicate and influence desired results

* Assist in the direction of positive business performance

* Help determine and monitor provisional rates subject to Government audit

* Forecast monthly; sales, gross margin, inventory, funding, backlog, etc

* Monitor capital SAR's and forecast expenditures and depreciation

* Prepare financial reports for scheduled monthly and ad-hoc meetings

* Create profit improvement and cost reduction plans

* Create financial dashboards, reporting on key metrics and results

* Design and implement reports for better analysis and business clarity

* Identify and drive process and productivity improvements

* Work among the various groups of accounting, finance, contracts, procurement and program management

* Participate in special projects, research, investigations and initiatives

* Assist in the development of plans, strategies and approaches to maximize business performance

* Help to successfully grow the business

* University Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business related field

* 15+ years of progressive finance experience

* Federal Government contracting organization experience

* Compliance and/or Audit experience a plus

* Excellent Excel skills

* Familiarity with Oracle financial systems a plus

* CPA or MBA preferred

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract. Some contracts may have higher-level clearance requirements.
