Job Description:

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is looking for a Strategic Planning Analyst with strategic planning and quantitative analytic experience who is a self-starter, adept communicator, and critical thinker. The Analyst will support the institution's strategic initiatives with market research and analytics, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies. The Analyst must be able to prioritize and execute data requests from leadership and various departments in order to achieve the strategic objectives. Additionally, the Analyst will be responsible for development of projections and comprehensive models to present to leadership. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

* Demonstrates ability to work with multiple stakeholders, including faculty, administrators, other members of clinical, finance, information technology, communications and other areas of the organization to identify business challenges/questions and find solutions through data analysis

* Participates in the entire analytics development lifecycle processes to include but not limited to: requirements gathering, specifications and design development, data model reviews, testing and implementation of assigned data analytic projects

* Completes the manipulation and display of quantitative and qualitative information in the form of reports, presentations, maps and graphs that reflect, synthesize, summarize and translate data to deliver a strategic actionable message

* Facilitates volume projections and market trending processes for key system initiatives, including program and facility planning and environmental assessment

* Conducts analysis and summaries of business, planning, and market opportunities

* Completes regular updates of data to support and maintain the calendar including producing key reports for the balanced scorecard, long-term space planning, peer analysis and environmental assessment

* Develops and maintains detailed knowledge of data set structure and elements/fields including source of data, field definitions, reliability of data field, and appropriate fields to use for various analyses

* Analyzes actual operating results and identify key planning and operating issues to be addressed; quantify actual results versus forecast

* Collaborates with data architects, data engineers and scientists and other team members to establish an analytics platform or/and standard procedures for use across the institution

* Responds to ad-hoc requests in a timely manner

* Maintains an awareness and understanding of data analytic methodologies, trends, and vendor product offerings

* Performs other duties as assigned

* Bachelor's Degree in Business, Health Services Administration, Public Health, Statistics or Math required

* Masters Degree in Business, Health Services Administration, Public Health, Statistics, or Math with Healthcare or Life Sciences experience and relevant degrees preferred

* Five (5) or more years of market/environmental and quantitative analytic experience required

* Two (2) or more years as a Strategic Analyst or in a business planning role with a Masters Degree

* Healthcare or Life Sciences planning and market research preferred

* None

* R/ Python/ Data Scientist/ other related certifications preferred
