It s our passion.PRIMARY PURPOSEMonitors equipment and supply levels within assigned area to ensure that clean, sterile, and packages of supplies and equipment are readily available to the departments that the function supports. MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONSEducation:-None.Experience:-Must have two years previous experience in sterile processing or other hospital department.Equivalent Education and/or Experience-May have an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in lieu of specific education and/or experience as stated above. Certification/Registration/Licensure:Prefer one of the following certifications:-Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) OR-Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) OR-Certified Registered Central Service Technician Cert. Instrument Specialist (CRCST-CIS) OR-Certified Ambulatory Surgery Sterile Processing Technician (CASSPT) OR -Certified Surgical Instrument Specialist (CSIS) OR-Certified Flexible Endoscope Preprocessor (CFER) OR-Certified Surgical Technician (CST) OR-Certified Operating Room Surgical Technician (CORST)Skills or Special Abilities:-Must be able to read written directions and to write legibly. -Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and hospital staff.-Must be able to lift, carry and push heavy objects. -Must have ability to learn basic PC skills as needed to complete daily tasks.-Must have knowledge of principles and policies concerning sterilization techniques and practices. -Must be able to operate all sterilization equipment and to recognize equipment malfunction. -Must be able to demonstrate basic record keeping and inventory control skills.
