The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Pricing and Analytics, this position will support the Short Term Commercial Marketing teams by providing timely and thorough market analysis in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

What you will do

* Performs detailed research into market data (market prices, flow volumes) and identifies opportunities that will assist the company in marketing pipeline capacity

* Prepares maps and diagrams that visualize the current or projected state of the natural gas pipeline system to help identify shifting market trends in various areas

* Compiles forecasted natural gas production numbers from supply areas, and balances them with demand data; performs detailed analysis of top producers by region

* Performs detailed competitor analysis to help identify potential market opportunities

* Supports analysis of month end revenue results by analyzing transactional data and explaining market trends that impacted results

* Works with Facilities Planning, Financial Planning and the Short Term Marketing team to forecast and value open pipeline capacity during multiple budget cycles

* Biweekly mark-to-market reporting of open capacity value, as well as tracking year to date revenue results vs the annual plan

* Performs pricing approvals on both long and short term transportation and storage transactions

* Produces visual presentations of data (maps, charts, graphs) and presents findings to upper management provide the tools necessary to make informed and strategically sound decisions

* Exercises independent judgment, understands information, handles analytical problems for non-routine issues; ability to quickly determine when deviations or anomalies can lead to problems;

* Build and utilize effective and positive working relationships with the commercial marketing team and other departments

* Other tasks as required

Minimum Qualifications

* University degree with emphasis on Business, Business Analysis, or related discipline

* 2 or more years of relevant industry experience is preferred

* Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving and communication skills

* Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments with varying priorities and due dates

* Functional utilization of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
