POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible to assess the health status of patients, students, and persons supported within the Specialty Hospital location in accordance with the organization's Mission and Core Values, utilizing Person-Centered Practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

Assess the health status of patients, students and persons supported

• Analyzes clinical information
• Provides Respiratory care/support
• Serves as the primary nurse within a specific unit
• Educates/teaches staff, families, patients, students, and persons supported
• Promotes health and safety

Work is performed in assigned areas; may be required to float to other areas as needed. Eight - 12 hours shifts including day, evening, overnight, weekend and holidays will be required. May be required to participate in the call system. This position can be exposed to physical and mental demands including back and muscle strain, constant kneeling, squatting, twisting, bending, and reaching. This position may require the use of personal protective equipment such as gloves, masks, jackets, robes, gowns, bite guards, etc.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program. Valid South Dakota RN Licensure. Prior nursing experience or direct care preferred.
