Sustainability Analyst at SBA Communications

Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities



  • Support the development of our annual corporate sustainability report.



  • Carry out financial analysis of performance data as it pertains to environmental, social and governance (ESG).



  • Support with the integration and mapping of additional sustainability standards and reporting frameworks.



  • Prepare periodical data submissions to vendors, data aggregators and rating agencies.



  • Project manage new sustainability or operational efficiency initiatives across departments and business units.



  • Prepare periodic reports to track goal accomplishment, performance against targets and key ESG metrics.



  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

  • Comprehensive understanding of reporting standards and industry best practices (GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP).



  • Comprehensive understanding of common Sustainability rating agencies (ISS, Sustainalytics, SAM, MSCI).


  

Education and/or Experience


  • Master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, or related field of study.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and advanced proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite software including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook.


Language Skills:



  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.



  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.


  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. 

  • Ability to provide clear, concise and professional communication to employees at all levels across the organization.


  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to tailor content to the level and experience of the audience.



  • Ability to use multiple channels or means to communicate important messages (i.e. memos, meetings, electronic mail).



  • Effective facilitation skills. Ability to facilitate individual or group discussions.



  • Attention to detail. Ability to develop accurate written materials.



  • Ability to utilize graphics and other aids to clarify complex or technical information.



  • Ability to create graphics, overheads, or slides that display information clearly and with high impact.



Mathematical Skills:



  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, profit margins, area and volume.



  • Ability to utilize mathematical formulas: to add, subtract, multiply and divide and to calculate decimals and percentages.



  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.



  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as arithmetic, probability and statistical inference.



  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.



Reasoning Ability:



  • Ability to define and prioritize problems, collect and organize data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions and projections.



  • Ability to think critically, utilizing a logical, systematic, sequential approach.
