Manager, Supply-Chain & Inventory Planning at Avangrid

Job Description:
Purpose

The Avangrid Renewables Manager, Supply-Chain & Inventory Planning reports to the Director of Supply-Chain & Logistics and is responsible for the supply & demand process and supplier performance for inventory materials to ensure industry leading operations and maintenance performance at over 60 wind power plants in the US with a capacity of 7+ GW and growing.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for Inventory Budget of >$70M, to include all aspects of increasing inventory turns and reducing inventory obsolescence through continuous improvements in planning processes.
• Lead and manage the Inventory Planning team and Business Analysts for inventory materials. Mentor, develop and train staff while creating a culture that attracts high quality professional and rewards teamwork and results.
• Forecast requirements, predict demand, and plan replenishments to manage inventory and maintain >97% wind generation facility availability.
• Interface with warehousing, sourcing, purchasing, field services, accounting, accounts payable, and others to develop optimal supply & demand process.
• Develop, manage and improve supplier performance and relationships in collaboration with Sourcing Manager through use of appropriate KPI's and supplier scorecard.
• Manage and resolve supplier material availability issues and escalate to Sourcing Manager or Director, Supply-Chain & Logistics when alternative supplier is needed to avoid production downtime.
• Responsible for developing and implementing the supply-chain reporting and IT system roadmap through collaboration with all stakeholders to gather requirements and subsequent project management with IT.
• Lead and participate in projects related to but not limited to inventory strategy, distribution network optimization, customer (wind site) satisfaction improvements, supply & demand improvements and supplier facing initiatives.
• Ensure all relevant controls are followed and develop new controls as needed in alignment with Operations Quality Program.
• Manage personnel performing fact-based analysis, planning, reporting, detailed tracking of inventory transactions, and performance.
• Work closely with Warehousing and AP to make sure suppliers are paid in alignment with payment terms.
Additional Responsibilities
• Develop and implement key performance metrics to measure against goals and objectives. Seek feedback from internal customers and make improvements.
• Ensure efficient work processes and robust documentation: internal procedures, repair processes, contracts, etc. Meet all Company Policies. Work to improve processes.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 7+ years of experience working with Oracle, SAP, or other mainstream ERP systems with focus on order management, spare parts supply management, service parts inventory, service fulfillment and operations planning, planned, unplanned, and predictive maintenance management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to work with all levels of the organization, and as a leader of a team.
• Strong prioritization and multi-tasking skills with the ability to operate in a complex, rapidly changing business environment with typically tight schedules and demanding targets
• Exhibit skills and attitude which demonstrate commitment to company policies, principles and processes.
• Demonstrated ability and initiative to manage time effectively while working with minimal supervision.
• Strong understanding of purchasing workflows and SAP/ ERP systems.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of the department and team.
• Proficient with SAP and MS Office suite.
• Ability to travel (25%).
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with wind plant construction, operations, and maintenance.
• Experience defining and leading supply-chain related IT reporting and system implementations
• Master's Degree in a relevant field
