What you will do in this role:

*

You will be proactively identifying system improvement opportunities and collaborating in the identification of resources to conduct root cause analyses (RCAs), failure mode and effect analyses (FEMAs) and PDSA cycles.
*

You will be chairing focus teams /committees as applicable to performance initiatives.
*

You will evaluate individual professional practice of department staff in relation to general nurse practice standards and relevant regulations.
*

You will provide direction, consultation and assistance to nursing staff in all aspects of the nursing process to achieve/maintain optimal quality of patient care delivery to defined populations across the medical center in accordance with medical center standards of care and nursing standards.
*

You will be responsible for upholding the standards of nursing care and practice as defined by Wesley Medical Center and the Kansas Nurse Practice Act.

*

You will be collaborating with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes.

*

You will be supporting the organization's vision and mission.

*

You will be utilizing knowledge of patient's age and cultural diversity in the provision of patient care. You will contribute to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.
*

You will periodically perform audits as indicated to monitor compliance with practice standards for assigned areas. Participating in data collection, trending of data and communication of findings to appropriate stakeholders to facilitate process improvement.

What qualifications you will need for this role:

*

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred

*

Current licensure in the State of Kansas a Registered Nurse, or current active multi-state Registered Nurse license

*

Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association

*

Oncology Certification
*

*

Previous acute care experience
