The Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) Directorate is seeking an ATR Programs Safety Operations Review Committee (SORC) Chair with expertise in operations, engineering, radiological safety and environmental safety to head the SORC, an independent, diverse committee of approximately 14 professionals across INL.

Responsibilities Include:

* Responsible for oversight and review of Unreviewed Safety Questions Determinations (USQDs) and Potential Inadequacy in the Safety Analysis (PISA) declarations as well as proposed changes to the safety bases (for example DSAs, SARs, and TSRs) and SBDs so that all safety related documents and activities receive the necessary independent review.

* Reviews safety considerations to the depth necessary to identify potential hazards, to confirm the adequacy of proposed controls, the acceptability of residual risks, and to verify compliance with the referenced documents.

* Provides documented comments to the appropriate organization/person (for example, document author, program lead) for comment resolution.

The ATR Programs SORC supports the following safety bases:

* Advanced Test Reactor

* Advanced Test Reactor Critical

* Nuclear Material Inspection and Storage Facility

* Spent Fuel Element Cask

* High Load Charger Cask

* GE-100 Cask

* Other facilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or related science, or equivalent, and a minimum of six (6) years relevant combined managerial and technical support.

* Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical details verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Knowledge of ATR and ATRC safety basis documents.

* Experience in application of 10 CFR 830, Subpart B to Category A and B nuclear facilities.
