The UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center is one of 41 NCI designated comprehensive cancer centers in the nation. Our specialized teams provide compassionate, comprehensive care for more than 10,000 adults and children a year. In our clinics, we have over 29,000 patient visits in the adult clinic and over 3300 patient visits in the pediatric oncology clinic. At the Cancer Center clinics, we strive to provide excellent customer service, while providing access to more than 150 active clinical trials, and the highest quality patient care for our patients.
Patient conditions include: oncology and non-oncology diagnoses (hematology, oncology, endocrine, rheumatology, gastrointestinal, genetic, renal, neurologic and pulmonary orders.

Responsibilities
The Cancer Center Adult Clinic Nurse Manager collaborates with the Executive Director of Oncology Services, Clinical Director of Oncology Services and the Medical Director of the Adult Clinic to support the excellence and functioning of the Adult Clinic Program as a whole. The Adult Clinic Nurse Manager interacts with the entire multidisciplinary clinical team including but not limited to: Davis 8 Nurse Manager and staff, Pediatrics Nurse Manager, BMT Nurse Manager and Assistant Manager, Adult Infusion Nurse Manager and Assistant Managers, Radiation Oncology Manager, the Administrative Director of Oncology Services, physicians and nurse practitioners, and financial coordination team to assure clinical excellence and smooth coordination of patient care.
Programmatically, the Adult Clinic Nurse Manager will assist in the growth and development expansion of new program offerings including but not limited to expanded Oncology services.
The Nurse Manager is responsible for the daily twenty-four (24) hour planning, organizing, directing and controlling of the daily operations and clinical practice of assigned patient care areas, in order to provide quality, individualized patient care and support of Medical Center philosophies. The Nurse Manager will lead staff to model a professional practice environment by: providing a clinically competent staff; encouraging strong interdisciplinary team collaboration and communication; supporting autonomy and accountability; providing staff opportunities for in-service and formal education; stressing the importance of continuous learning; and supporting a culture where concern for the patient is paramount. The Nurse Manager assumes fiscal responsibility through preparation of unit budgets, supports research, participates in both long and short term strategic planning, and assures patient advocacy.
REQUIRED
* At least three (3) years of nursing experience in the care of patients in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting
* Minimum of 2 years of nursing management experience
* Bachelor of Science in Nursing. In addition, Master's degree in nursing or other related field. If Master's degree is not completed, applicant must complete within three years of hire.
* Valid California RN license
PREFERRED
* Oncology Adult Clinic nursing experience
* Oncology management experience
* ONS Biotherapy
* Oncology Certified RN
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
* Maintains flexible scheduling as required by workload and departmental needs
* Reference reflects an overall meet or exceeds
