The scheduling coordinator is responsible for scheduling patients via the computer system for healthcare services with a high degree of accuracy and customer satisfaction. Scheduling representative must maintain a strong physician network regarding patient access. The position is accountable for working with the team and/team leaders to continuously improve services. Excellent telephone, computer and customer service skills are required. Maintains patient/professional confidentiality, displays a positive attitude and is adaptable to change. Contacts service areas as needed for information/communication. The job requires someone who can function in a multitasking environment. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
* Experience: Working knowledge of medical terminology.
* Required Education: High school graduate or equivalent
* Preferred Education: College associate or business degree a plus
* Certifications: None
* Preferred Licensure: LPN
* Other: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Medical Terminology, typing/computer skills Basic Microsoft computer knowledge. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a multi-tasking environment. Ability to function well in a high pace enviornment. Additional languages preferred. Knowledge of procedure/diagnosis coding is helpful.
