Job Description:

Summary: At New Day Farms, we pride ourselves in being a leader and trendsetter in the egg production industry and believe that recruiting people of the highest caliber is essential to our sustained growth and long-term success. General Laborers support food processing, animal caretaking and entry-level maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
Food Processing
-Egg processing line work
-Operation of machines in food production facility

Animal Care
-Caring for live chickens, ensuring birds have proper food, water and light
-Implementation of bio security practices
-Fertilizer maintenance

Maintenance
-Light maintenance work
-Maintaining a clean work area
-Sanitation of food processing equipment

The responsibilities detailed in this description are not all inclusive. Employees may be assigned additional responsibilities based on the needs of the organization.

Qualifications:
-Some farm or production experience preferred

Education and/or Experience:
-High school diploma or GED preferred

Work Schedule:
We are in operation 365 days a year so the work week may vary and daily/weekend overtime may be required.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may stand for long periods, walk, use hands to handle tools, objects or controls, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Work Environment:
The position is located on the farm or within a processing facility. Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, and water, and chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Proper personal protective equipment will be provided and required during certain working conditions and in certain areas. Stakeholders Employees are required to be cleanly dressed, wear hairnets, gloves, earplugs (when necessary) and boots.
