What You'll Do:

The Assistant Store Manager is the ambassador of the store for both our guests and team members demonstrating excellent people skills, a passion for food and guest service. With the Store Manager, our Assistant Store Managers lead store team members while being responsible for interviewing, selection, retention, supervision, and development of our team members. Our Assistant Store Managers also play a key roll in sales, gross margins, labor and profits.

Qualifications:

What you will do in a typical day:
  • Guest Service is a priority! Greeting guests and answering questions in a friendly manner, proactively offering assistance with accurate and timely information, making product/service recommendations, accommodating special requests, and educate guests on products through sampling.
  • Maintain knowledge of weekly ad items; give customers direction of product location throughout the store and work across departments to provide and assist customers in finding complete meal solutions.
  • Manage talent to include:
    • Maximize productivity and efficiency through accurate and timely scheduling which meets business needs and is Compliant with policies. Develop meeting/huddle plans to communicate to all team members daily priorities.
    • Forecast and maintain store staff by collaborating with Talent Acquisition in the sourcing, selecting, orienting, and on-boarding team members.
    • Utilize training resources, including TFM systems and on-the-job training, and motivate team members to educate self and others about product uses and characteristics.
  • Establish and maintain a positive work environment. Focus the team members on creating an environment built on teamwork and inspiring a "one team" mentality.
  • Setting and achieving the highest standards in retail execution focusing on maximizing sales and gross profit, while reducing shrink at or below plan levels.
  • Utilizing reports and metrics to make sound business decisions.
  • Focus on team retention by building and maintaining good working relationships with team members, setting high standards, and controlling labor costs.
  • Follow all company guidelines and procedures to include but not limited to safety and sanitation.
  • Follow Quality and safety procedures by:
    • Monitoring temperature of cases, spill overs, ovens and storage areas and report any failures to the corporate office. Follow maintenance and sanitation procedures established by TFM for coolers, freezers, and ovens, and report problems to store management.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
  • Typical motions include repetitive hand and arm movements, repetitive grasping, lifting, bending, reaching and exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, freezer, outdoors, etc.)
  • Physically present at the workplace/store and in strict adherence to the Company's attendance and punctuality requirements
  • The ability, open availability, and willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the store is required including but not limited to weekend, day, evening, and overnight and holiday work, as needed to meet the demands of the store
  • Responsible for moving or lifting an average of 10-60 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 80 pounds occasionally
  • Will be required to spend the majority of time on his/her feet and stand or walk without a break for up to 4 hours

Essential Job Skills:
  • Must have a minimum of 5-7 years of retail experience & 3+ years in a leadership role
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office; Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Proven oral and written communication skills that allow for productive communication with coworkers, management, and guests.
  • Proven ability to prioritize, follow through on deliverables, meet objectives and deadlines, take initiative and work independently
