Job Description: Job Summary: Join our Mechanical Engineering team to conduct innovative research for a wide range of commercial and military biomechanics and human performance applications utilizing advanced computational and experimental techniques. Use advanced motion capture systems and other sensor data (e.g. force plate, EMG, IMU, etc.) in combination with biomechanical modeling and simulation to determine the performance of the human body during various activities including physical rehabilitation, physical athletic training, and other human performance applications. Interact and engage with commercial and government clients to develop solutions that fit their requirements. Write and present reports and technical papers and manage the technical and financial performance of projects. Participate in and eventually lead individual and collaborative research projects as well as develop, promote, and write proposals for research and development programs.
Education/Experience: Requires a MS degree or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or Biomedical Engineering or closely related engineering degree with 0-5 years of experience. Must have at least a 3.25 GPA. Must have experience in developing multi-body dynamics models of musculoskeletal systems, experience with commercial motion capture systems, force plates, wearable sensors, and EMG. Must have experience with commercial and open source biomechanical modeling software and programming languages such as OpenSim, AnyBody, Python, or Matlab. Must have the ability to work collaboratively n a multidisciplinary team environment as well as individually. Must have excellent problem-solving skills, be self-motivated, and be driven to solve challenging problems. Must have good organizational skills and attention to detail with an aptitude for continuous learning and leadership potential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Experience and interest in advanced data analysis methods, uncertainty analysis or probabilistic mechanics, experimental methods and data collection, machine vision, machine learning, and deep neural networks is desired. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
