Summary: We are seeking a Software Development Manager who "grew up" as a Developer, was promoted to a Tech Lead and now manages Agile Software Development Teams. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervises a team of Developers in delivering and supporting distributed solutions while fostering an environment conducive to innovation and career development
  • Responsible for effectively identifying and grooming development tasks to support work teams
  • Work with Agile Teams, Scrum Masters, Architects and Product Owners to Achieve product delivery goals
  • Effectively lead teams using Agile methodology, business goals and emotional intelligence
  • Conduct weekly team meetings to ensure goals are being met and ideas are being heard
  • Reviews and approves project initiatives, conducts code reviews and promotes best practices
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership teams to determine business schedules to ensure they are met
  • Communicate with Leadership teams effectively
  • Approve software designs and actively participate in strategy sessions with the team and business
  • Ensures the identification and implementation of improvements to the development process
  • Conducts performance reviews, recommends candidates for promotion, and manages performance improvement plans as necessary
  • Manages recruiting efforts to fill individual positions and selects candidates for hire
  • Foster career development, work with leadership on behalf of team members. Encourage innovation and teamwork
  • Create/Determine goals for the Developers and mentor them on how to be positive/productive
  • Reward team members and celebrate the WINS!!


  • Minimum of ten years of software development experience which includes a minimum six years of development experience and four years of leadership experience
  • Minimum of four years of experience leading/managing teams (particularly Agile) who develop using end-to-end Microsoft stack. Proven ability to lead multiple teams and projects simultaneously
  • Prefer candidates who have experience leading Agile teams in a retail company
  • We need a leader who has the ability to roll up their sleeves triage and work to deliver projects when all "hands on deck" are needed!
  • Ability to set/achieve goals, stick to schedules/2-week sprints and motivate teams to meet/beat deadlines
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, CompSci or related degree, OR equivalent experience
  • Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills. Ability to work hand in hand with Product Management and/or Architecture team to achieve product delivery goals
  • Experience with TFS work items, task board, source control etc and familiarity with CI / CD tools
  • Adaptive, forward thinking, and team-oriented
  • Detailed knowledge of database design and object/relational database technology
  • Strong balance of operational and business aptitude and comprehension

  • Microsoft Stack - DotNet/DotNetCore, C#, ASP.Net MVC/MVC Core, WPF (MVVM), SQL Server
  • Distributed Application Architecture - Docker Containers, Event-Driven Messaging Infrastructure (Kafka), Microservices, Caching/Syncing, Analytics and monitoring (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Grafana)
  • Frameworks/Components- Redis, Identity Server, SSO, Blazer
  • Data/Reporting Environments - SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, DB2, Teradata, MicroStrategy, SharePoint
  • Legacy Infrastructure - AS400, ASP.Net Forms, Dot Net Nuke
