We are looking for a Vendor Manager who will join our Category/Brand Marketing team in Vancouver, WA or Columbus, OH. We are open to remote work but must be drivable for particular meetings.
This is a NEW role, in a new function being created, which will have responsibility for managing Hawthorne's Distributed (Branded) Vendors via owning the direct relationship with the vendors and collaborating with the Category Team on execution against the strategic priorities for the Hawthorne business.
Every day you will:
Have responsibility for a portfolio of Vendors (Exclusive & Distributed Brands across multiple categories) within the Hawthorne portfolio.
Partner with your manager and our Category Business Leads to understand the Strategic Plans within the Category and then implement the Vendor Management responsibilities below.
Own the relationship & communication with a set of Vendors based upon roles within the team and division of vendor management responsibility.
To Thrive in this role, you must have:
Manage an Annual "Line Reviews" and "Quarterly Business Review" process for a set of Vendors to evaluate a Vendor's existing portfolio, discuss business improvement practices, and align on future planning.
Created & distributed regular reporting documents to vendors.
Owned metric delivery (revenue, margin %, and inventory $ targets) across vendor group.
Collaborated with vendors on planning & execution across Innovation, Marketing, and Sales / Training programs.
Managed the optimization of existing portfolio assortment with focus on identifying gaps and redundancies to align on a streamlined metric-based productive sku assortment.
Managed innovation pipeline for vendors, collaborating with Category Team on new product setup & activation.
5-7+ years of experience in vendor management, retail merchandiser / buyer roles, sales, business/brand management, and/or category management.
Demonstrated ability to effectively understand a P&L and take actions associated with business/category P&L goals.
