We are looking for a Trade Compliance Manager who will grow at our Vancouver, Washington Hawthorne Gardening Company location. This role will manage the trade compliance team to further develop programs supporting shared services for Hawthorne and related entities.

What you'll do in this role:
  • Manage global trade compliance programs
  • Develop compliance team driving industry best practices
  • Oversee customs broker(s) and related service providers
  • Develop relationship with relevant agencies
  • Supervise tariff classification - all regions
  • Monitor foreign vendor import compliance
  • Maintain departmental and corporate import and export SOPs
  • Develop and support enterprise wide training programs
  • Identify duty savings opportunities
  • Manage import permit renewals
  • Monitor dynamic legislation updates via trade publications
  • Manage dangerous goods shipping compliance programs

What you'll need to be successful:
  • Customs Broker License
  • 10+ years of experience managing global trade compliance programs
  • Direct experience managing trade compliance team
  • DOT and IMDG HAZMAT regulation knowledge preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
