Job Description: Director, Brand Analytics Lead The Director, Brand Analytics Lead will be part of the larger Commercial Analytics team reporting to the Head of Commercial Analytics. The Commercial Analytics team is part of the larger Data and Analytics Organization at Otsuka America Pharmaceutical Inc (OAPI).
In partnership primarily with marketing team the individual is responsible for leading the Brand Analytics team to utilize descriptive, prescriptive and predictive analytics to turn data into strategic market insights that enable effective, data driven decision-making for the Commercial leadership across brands. This leader is responsible to closely partner with other team leaders within the Commercial Analytics organization namely Portfolio Analytics and Forecasting to come up with a unified approach to enable decision making for the Commercial organization.
Key member of the Commercial Analytics Leadership Team working closely with Marketing Leads to drive BU strategy and commercial success
Lead the Brand Analytics team to function as a proactive, consultative business partner for each of the key brand stakeholders to inform business decisions through rigorous analyses and actionable insights
4-5 Brand Analytics team member will be reporting into this role
Build and develop talent, and drive a continuous improvement mind-set in the organization
Support development of annual Brand Planning - Situation Analysis, Key Business Questions, Monthly and/or Weekly Performance Monitoring Plans and trackers
Measure effectiveness of all promotion tactics deployed by the brands and help in promotional resource allocations
Use Patient Claims and EMR data sources to do a deep dive into Patient and HCP practice dynamics for each of the brands and their corresponding market and therapeutic areas
Partner with the Insights team to develop more holistic responses to key questions from the brand leadership
Develop communication plans to update key stakeholders on advanced analytics strategy and execution
Work with Brand Analytics and advanced analytics team to build and deploy advanced analytics tools and platforms which will enhance team's capability to respond to brand teams needs much more efficiently and effectively
Provide clear & concise recommendations driven by data and insights to provide the "so what" to the brand stakeholders
Work with larger Commercial Analytics and the Data and Analytics organization to ensure that Brand Analytics team utilizes the acquired data efficiently and optimally to meet business goals and answer business questions from brand leadership on business needs.
Ensure that the Brand Analytics team is seen as a key partner for each of the brand teams and has a seat at the table to influence upcoming brand strategies
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or related field; graduate degree preferred.
10+ years' experience in pharmaceuticals, biotech or management consulting
Demonstrated experience in leading a team of high performing individuals to achieve organizational objectives
Demonstrated expertise and knowledge in supporting brand analytics needs; i.e. connecting the dots and generate insights, prioritize business questions and recommendation
Strong verbal and written communication skills, as demonstrable in oral management presentations, succinct PowerPoint stories and layout, as well as structured syntheses and recommendations
Demonstrated ability to translate complex analysis into simple 'business speak' and present results to brand stakeholders
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and be accountable for individual & team results
Ability to build relationships, collaborate and influence across other functional teams in the organization
Appropriate understanding of computing and programming using statistical packages to clean, prep and analyze internal and third part data (i.e. SAS, R, Excel, SQL)
Background in variety of statistical and machine learning techniques and algorithms including regression (Liner/Non-Linear/Logistic), Factor Analysis, Binary Tree, Random Forest, Gradient Boost etc
Prior experience with pharmaceutical sales, marketing, and medical claims data sets (IQVIA, Symphony, Truven, Optum etc)
Have some background in utilizing cloud-based data management system (AWS RedShift and S3) and EC2 virtual servers to build and deploy analyses tools
