Job Description
Job Summary:
The Technical Director (focused on Customer and Cloud Identity and Access Management Advisory) should be a seasoned veteran on technology consulting, platform selection, implementation as well as leading teams and projects. In this advisory consulting role, the individual will work closely with Optiv and partner technical teams by providing strategic leadership for the organization as it relates to advisory and architecture support of projects.
This Director will be responsible for developing, building and delivering world-class CIAM and Cloud IAM advisory strategies and solutions to clients.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide thought leadership internally and externally on CIAM and Cloud IAM strategy and architecture topics by writing blog posts, articles, white papers or hosting webinars. Be a contributor to industry groups and/or publications.
  • Scout and suggest innovative marketing channels and tactics to grow the business of our client.
  • Work with sales teams to deliver consultative conversations with customers and operate as the "tip of the spear" for Optiv Services.
  • Architect solutions to ensure that the customer's CIAM and cloud requirements are met.
  • Assist with development of cyber engagement plans for customers which will enable them to execute upon strategies.
  • Articulate conceptual, logical and physical solutions on the behalf of Optiv for the development of a proposal.
  • Oversee and direct the delivery of security strategy execution as part of a broader Enterprise or IS/IT Architecture which encompass people, process and technology components.
  • Undertake Identity & Data Management analysis methodologies/techniques and the interpretation/application of their output in the definition of Security Architectures.

Education and Skills Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel to meet client needs.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, plus approximately 10-15 years of related work experience. Must have broad awareness of the security/technology space.
  • Previous experience in a Principal, Manager or Director technical engineering capacity related to customer and/or cloud identity management architecture with in-depth knowledge of modern automation and orchestration concepts and techniques.
  • Experience with DevOps and Agile concepts is preferred.
  • Approximately 8-10 years of technical architecture experience or in-depth consulting and implementation experience. Ability to envision consulting approach and deliverables for new areas of work for Optiv.
  • High degree of business acumen and recognized expert across multiple solution areas.
  • Speaks as an authority with strong executive presence. Comfortable leading discussions with client executives on broad as well as specific subject matter. Can handle difficult questions and consistently win support from client audiences. Strong written and presentational skills; ability to clearly communicate complex messages to a variety of audiences and to present to large groups.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) for B2C and B2B. Experience with Federation technologies standards. Ability to adjust messaging for these concepts to the appropriate audience as an advisory consultant.
  • Experience with building CIAM or Cloud IAM programs and architectures from the ground up - including all aspects of people, processes, and technology.
  • Experience designing secure access management solutions using multi-factor authentication (MFA).
  • Extensive hands-on experience with OAuth OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, SSO, FIDO, LDAP, cryptography, Identity and Access Management, PKI, and similar aspects of cybersecurity.
  • Strong experience and working knowledge of all aspects of plan/build/run for at least one of the following platforms (Okta, Microsoft, Ping Identity, or ForgeRock).
  • High degree of knowledge of security concepts and methods such as vulnerability assessments, data classification, privacy assessments, incident response, security policy creation, enterprise security strategies, architectures and governance.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance issues affecting clients related to privacy and data protection, such as PCI DSS, GLBA, Basel II, EU Data Protection Directive, International Cross Border, and U.S. State Data Privacy Laws.
  • Technical architecture experience integrating data protection software into the client's infrastructure; network architecture design, and implementation and administration.
  • Working knowledge of operating systems, virtual machine environments, mainframe security packages, and relational database management systems.
  • Hold or be willing to pursue related professional certifications such as the CISSP, CISM, and/or CISA.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Able to deliver and lead other consultants in complex projects.
  • Can modify and change methodologies as required.
  • Possess high standard of integrity and confidentiality.
