The warehouse associate, under the direction of the warehouse Lead or Supervisor, reviews orders, prepares products for domestic and foreign shipping, verifies outgoing quantities. Routes products for proper shipping method, maintains working supplies, maintains inventory and performs cycle counts to insure products are available and shipped to customers in a timely, accurate manner.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Reviews orders for products needed, gathers products to fill customer orders, checks shipment/orders for correct materials and accuracy, packing and crating, tagging and handling instructions to ensure timely, accurate shipment of products.
Orders may be shipped via full truck, container, LTL common carrier or UPS/small parcel service.
Routes products for proper method of shipment, domestic or foreign, to insure accurate, timely distribution. Loads shipments into common carrier trailers.
Perform major activities on scanners: i.e. inventory move, order pick and shipment. Maintain accurate daily work time log for reporting of activities performed and time spent.
Maintains clean and clear work areas and complies with safety rules and regulations and housekeeping procedures to insure a safe working environment.
The ability to perform cycle counts.
Demonstrate ability to ship orders, and print packing lists on scanner.
Ability to perform order pick, Freight and UPS on scanner.
Ability to perform item transfer on scanner.
Ensures that all operations are carried out at the minimum cost consistent with quality standards.
Maintains a high degree of employee motivation and morale, departmental and interdepartmental cooperation.
Maintains neatness and orderliness in the department. Complies observance of safety regulations and initiates action to establish new regulations whenever the need arises.
Complies with OSHA and safety rules and regulations, housekeeping procedures to maintain neatness and orderliness in the operation.
Recommend/initiates action to address immediate issues and establishes new regulations whenever the need arises.
Maintains and complies with policies, procedures and practices relating to operations of the plant.
High school diploma / GED or equivalent experience
Must be able to write, count, read and understand English.
Requires the use of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of decimals and fractions, work from drawings, specifications and formulas involving limited detail and have the ability to read, use a ruler, tape measure, and calculator.
Ability to comprehend simple instructions and documents such as work orders, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
The ability to interact and communicate with Supply Chain personnel, in order to coordinate on-time production of parts to the logistic department.
The ability to effectively communicate with all other employees, within the company's values credo.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with practical problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Requires the ability to operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts (forklift certification required), and various hand tools, shrink wrappers and scales.
Requires the ability to operate the computer and scanners for purposes of data entry as well as all standard office equipment.
Requires the ability to use calculators and other standard office equipment such as telephones, copy and fax machines.
Requires the ability to interact with company personnel in the coordination of on time shipping of product and inbound materials.
0 - 1 year of previous shipping/outbound, receiving/inbound; or a combination of education and experience with a good performance and attendance record.
