Position Overview

The Area Manager is responsible for the performance, growth, and profitability of the business unit including but not limited to sales, production, delivery, customer service, maintenance, and support.  A successful Area Manager will foster and sustain a positive, effective, and efficient work environment that is aligned with the purpose of our business which is to be The Preferred Source for each of our stakeholders:

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Possess previous and proven management experience operating a vertically integrated business including Aggregates, Ready Mix Concrete, Asphalt, and Construction Services.

  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Understand budgeting and financial reporting processes and analysis.

  • Possess excellent leadership skills in order to effectively deal with employees, customers, suppliers, vendors government entities, and peers.

  • Demonstrate outstanding performance, safety and attendance.

  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently, without direct supervision.

  • Provide guidance, leadership, and training to other employees.

  • Demonstrate the ability to conform to and maintain MSHA, OSHA, DOT and all other company or government rules and regulations

Education and/or Experience

  • BS Degree and or High School diploma with 10 or more years’ experience in the industry.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. 

  • Ability to write correspondence precisely. 

  • Ability to effectively present information in one on one and group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

  • Ability to compute rate, ration, percent, land to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, written or oral instructions

Computer Skills

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to type and use keyboards accurately and have knowledge of Database software.
