Instructional Systems Designer (ISD)

A. Harold and Associates, LLC is seeking an Instructional Systems Designer (ISD). The ISD will work with Subject Matter Experts (SME), Multimedia Specialists (MMS), Computer-Based Training Specialists (CBTS), Videographers, and other ISDs to analyze existing training documentation, design and develop new Navy Instructor-Let Training (ILT) and Interactive Courseware (ICW) training products, and immersive simulation trainers. Experience with US Navy training standards and Instructional Systems Design processes for detailed instructional development effort is preferred. This is a full-time position with opportunities in Jacksonville, FL.

Specific Duties/Job Requirements:
  • Coordinate with SMEs and ISDs to facilitate information gathering from formal instructional training documents and United States Government (USG) technical publications
  • Design lesson outlines and draft materials including Script Storyboards and On-Screen Lessons, including Level 3 – 4 ICW
  • Review training materials for instructional soundness
  • Evaluate and analyze learning objectives and assessments
  • Provide guidance to videographers and photographers to support the recording of task performance
  • 10%-25% travel
  • Other assigned tasks
Required Experience/Education:
  • Degree in Instructional Design or related field
  • Foundational knowledge of learning theory and systems thinking
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment for a detailed instructional development effort
  • Experience analyzing existing training documentation in support of large training programs
  • Experience with eLearning authoring tools (Captivate, Articulate, Storyline)
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Organized and efficient
  • Possess exceptional attention to detail
  • Concise communication skills
  • Exceptional written/grammar skills
  • Able to quickly adapt to process changes
  • Ability to identify gaps and align efforts with dynamic customer needs
Preferred Experience:
  • Working knowledge of current US Navy rate training course documentation
  • Proficiency in Adobe Captivate
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Experience with uploading, modifying, and testing courseware hosted on Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Proficiency in Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM II) Content Planning Module/Learning Object Module (CPM/LOM)
  • Experience with Naval training for one or more of the following ratings:
    • Boatswain's mate (BM)
    • Gas Turbine Systems Technician- Electrical (GSE)
    • Gas Turbine Systems Technician- Mechanical (GSM)
