Job Description:

The Director, Strategy and Administration operates at a tactical, strategic and operational level across the Advantasure organization reporting up through the President. This individual will have oversight of projects that do not neatly fit within the organizational chart or that fall between various departments or leaders' areas of responsibility. The Director, Strategy and Administration should be nimble in helping meet timely business needs or gaps and proven experience in a start-up environment with demonstrated ability in change management.


  • Work in coordination with the Executive Assistant to oversee and support the President's calendar.
  • Support and provide direction to the Executive Assistant by filling in knowledge gaps, coordinate completion of various requests.
  • Planning and executing executive meetings including facilitation, agenda creations, follow up needs and more.
  • Tracking miscellaneous follow-ups from meetings and/or requests from executives

Project Management
  • Tracking high priority initiatives and identifying any obstacles
  • Communicating initiative status to the President, pulling in other executives or team members as necessary
  • Connecting teams that are working on similar initiatives
  • Pulling together and managing project teams that require input from multiple areas within the company

  • Running the annual budget cycle process such as helping department heads prepare their budget materials for presentation to the President
  • Project managing board meeting preparation and creation of board meeting materials
  • Running quarterly business reviews
  • Creating and updating monthly dashboards to track changes in key metrics
  • Analyzing investment opportunities

Strategic Initiatives
  • Identifying and taking on ad hoc strategic projects such as executing key initiatives or closing any operational gaps
  • Providing decision support through data gathering, information analyzing, and presenting considerations to relevant stakeholders

  • Designing and executing a corporate communication strategy
  • Partnering with the corporate communications team to facilitate and review Advantasure enterprise wide communications
  • Drafting speeches and presentations
  • Presentation and deliverables management
  • Complete and coordinate requests directed to president from other executives
  • Completing high-level reporting needs that represent the office of the president

Human Resources
  • Updating recruiting processes
  • Overseeing diversity and culture initiatives
  • Reviewing organizational structure, identifying any gaps, and filling them
  • Aligning internal processes

  • Serving as a trusted advisor and confidant to the executive
  • Review and provide input on key initiatives
  • Provides talking points and or preps executive on meeting subject and material

  • Attending meetings in place of the executive

Relationship Management
  • Managing critical relationships on behalf of the executive

  • Assessing all inquiries directed to the executive and determining the proper course of action
  • Determining which meetings take priority
  • Vetting requests for time and routing requests to other departments as appropriate


Directly supervises exempt and non-exempt staff in accordance with company policies and applicable Federal and State Laws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to effectively interviewing, hiring, terminating, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and counseling employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; supporting and encouraging the engagement process.

Bachelor's Degree in insurance, information systems or related field preferred. Relevant combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.


A minimum of seven years multi-faceted experience in the insurance industry, information technology field, or relevant business experience which provides the necessary skills, knowledge and abilities. Five years strategic solution development experience& leadership experience required.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of team-building and employee motivation theories with the ability to effectively manage multi-functional employee teams.
  • Thorough knowledge of insurance products and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in the research, planning, development and implementation of corporate projects.
  • Ability to appropriately manage resources, budgets, issues, and risks for the successful completion of projects.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of computer systems, software, and database structure/application.
  • Excellent oral and written communications, as well as presentation skills.
  • Ability to understand business needs and conceptualize and implement processes and products that support those business strategies.
  • Ability to comprehend the consequences of various problem situations and seek creative solutions.
  • Ability to effectively exchange information clearly and concisely, and present ideas, report facts and other information, and respond to questions as appropriate.
  • Ability to establish rapport and maintain customer satisfaction without compromising priorities.
  • Ability to interact with others at all levels of the organization, to build consensus and get decisions implemented.
  • Thorough knowledge of project management principles and practices, including planning and coordination, with the ability to complete large projects involving multiple resources.
  • Ability to establish workflows, manage multiple projects, and meet necessary deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to perform other assignments at locations outside the office.


Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards. Travel is required.
