The Benefits Team Lead is responsible for supporting the company's health, welfare, and retirement benefits. This is achieved through determining the potential impact of regulations, trends, and practices; and recommending policies and procedures in a way that ensures improved departmental efficiencies and improved employee experience.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: Bachelor or Associate Degree in Human Resources, Communications, or Business
  • Experience: 4 to 6 years of Human Resources or Benefit Administration experience, and 1 to 3 years direct supervisory/management experience in Human Resources or Benefit Administration


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Audits all benefit programs and makes necessary adjustments, if needed.
  • Oversees leave management (short term and long-term disability, FML, personal, military).
  • Administers 401k program, including monitoring & reporting, transaction corrections, and annual non-discrimination testing.
  • Monitor and analyze monthly insurance budget tracking.
  • Coordinates transfer of data to external benefits vendors, plan providers, auditors, and consultants.
  • Develops relationships with leaders, employees, vendors, and/or others to facilitate open dialogue and trust.
  • Maintains knowledge of and analyzes government regulations, benefit program trends, and prevailing practices among similar organizations.
  • Makes recommendations for policies and procedures related to company/employee benefits.
  • Prepares and communicates information (including educational formats) to employees, former employees, and dependents about benefit programs, procedures, changes, and government-mandated disclosures.
  • Provides general customer service to all employees regarding all company benefits, including but not limited to: answering their benefit questions, resolving problems related to access or payment of benefits, and processing related benefit forms.
  • Demonstrates an acceptance of the company culture (adhere to the company's core values) and an adoption of professional standards.
  • Demonstrates approachability and ability to collaborate with others and effectively influence.
  • Defines work to be done; clearly communicates vision, objectives, and tasks to appropriate individuals.
  • Delegates tasks to appropriate parties; clearly communicates needs and expectations. Measures and monitors the work of individual direct reports and/or collective team/taskforce team(s). Coaches and motivates direct reports/appropriate individuals to effectively perform; removes barriers to success and provides feedback, necessary resources, and open communication.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
