RESPONSIBILITIES

Springwoods Behavioral Health, a division of one of the nation's largest and most respected hospital companies, Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), has an immediate opening for a Dietary Cook. The Cook is responsisble for the preparation and serving of food to patients, staff and visitors while maintaining a clean and safe environment in the food service area. The Cook must assist in keeping the food service area organized and stocked. Additionally, the Cook is responsible for following patient specific guidelines to any food needs or restrictions. The Cook is responsible for ensuring that all food preparation is done to meet state, JCAHO, and federal standards and guidelines for safety and sanitation. The Cook also attends meetings and in-service training as necessary.

This position is full time, non-exempt. Hours are Monday-Friday 10:30a.m.-7:00p.m.

Some alternating weekends will be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or GED required. One-year previous experience in a food service setting within an institutional environment. Training and/or experience in preparation of food for therapeutic diets or hospital foodservice preferred.

Ability to interact with staff, patients, and co-workers in a positive manner.

CPR and AED certification is to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
