As a Market Access and Operations IT Business Partner you will be the liaison between IT and the business stakeholders. The BP is responsible for understanding the business overall goals and objectives, knowing their stakeholder groups, assisting in the prioritization of business technology projects, ensuring that projects align with the technology that best provides maximum return on investment, and linking IT strategy in support of the overall business strategy. In this role, you will contribute to Takeda’s mission by serving as the consultant to the market access and medical affairs oncology organization on technology trends and technology delivery options. A typical day will include:

POSITION OBJECTIVES:


  • The IT Business Partner for Market Access & Operations is aligned to the business areas in Takeda Oncology organization responsible for:

    • Global and US Oncology Contracts and Pricing teams

    • Value and Access US Field teams

    • US Oncology Patient Services

    • Global and US Oncology Commercial Medical Affairs team



  • This business partner role is the liaison between IT and the business stakeholders. The BP is responsible for understanding the business overall goals and objectives, knowing their stakeholder groups, assisting in the prioritization of business technology projects, ensuring that projects align with the technology that best provides maximum return on investment, and linking IT strategy in support of the overall business strategy.

  • The BP is responsible for gathering, interpreting, prioritizing and fulfilling the business technology requirements of the client area and their stakeholder groups through connection and collaboration with the solutions and delivery mechanisms of Takeda. As a result, this role collaborates closely with the delivery teams to ensure overall investments and solutions meet business needs, technology standards, and are compliant with SOX, Takeda’s standards, and governmental regulations.

  • The BP is a key client relationship role; acting as an advocate for the client.  This role works with the Oncology Market access and medical affairs teams across all organizational levels. The BP works with business area leadership and governance teams to understand project requirements, shape project requests, and provide a high-level estimate of the project effort and costs in cost-benefit analysis. The BP works with business technology architects to identify potential solutions that match the business strategy with the technology strategy.

  • The BP coordinates the information needed for the IT organization's annual planning process, including budgeting, representing the demand for technology solutions from the business stakeholders.  The BP partners collaborates with the client and applications delivery teams throughout the full life cycle development – from conception of ideas through planning, business case preparation, vendor selection, development, deployment and operations / stabilization.

  • The BP is a consultant to the market access and medical affairs oncology organization on technology trends and technology delivery options. In this capacity the BP collaborates with IT peers and serves as the IT lead on key stakeholders’ teams.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Business Partnership:


  • Partners to key stakeholders in Takeda oncology market access and medical affairs teams

  • Interacts and collaborates with other IT peers and service partners across the broader IT organization on behalf of business stakeholders

  • Possesses thorough understanding of the long-term vision for all business areas supported, making decisions that support Takeda’s long-term strategies (roadmap). Holds “seat at the table” with market access and medical affairs teams

  • Viewed as a trusted advisor of the business, ensuring the business seeks out input and advice prior to making systems or project decisions

  • Provides business process design and guidance to business area

  • Collaborates with application delivery and support resources and platform owner to define value add options, establish priorities and approach to meet business demands while ensuring day-to-day operations are not negatively impacted

  • Makes decisions that support a customer-centric organization

  • Builds and maintains vendor management relationships and ensures all vendors and their resources adhere to Takeda policy and deliver to established guidelines and priorities

  • Partners with business leaders in the development of short to long range business technology strategies for market access and medical affairs

   

Project/Program/Portfolio Management and Issue Resolution:


  • Provides strategic and on-going leadership for planning, development, delivery and coordination of information services and initiatives ensuring they are aligned to the business’ strategic imperatives

  • Provides leadership within the organization to ensure business requirements are understood and priorities are delivered

  • Builds, develops, manages and supports capabilities to enable the business

  • Manages the budgeting, development, integration and delivery of complex information systems projects and enhancements through all phases of SDLC

  • Participates in technology aspects of all business sponsored projects and project requests

  • Provides consultative support to business strategy planning

  • Conducts new business initiative analysis

  • Manages third party relationships through implementation and ensures an effective transition to appropriate operations staff

  • Follows standard Takeda methodology and ensures consistency across the organization

  • Provides status reporting to IT and business leadership; escalates and manages risks at the appropriate levels within IT and the business

  • Manages issues resolution, ensures appropriate investigation and resolution paths are identified, clearly communicated, and implemented

  • Collaborates with IT colleagues to ensure prioritized business objectives are met

  • Focuses on continuous improvement

Financial:


  • Complies with Takeda’s financial and procurement policies and procedures (including budgeting process, forecast cycles, RFP processes, contracting/PO processes)

  • Offers budget transparency and negotiations with clients

  • Develops and manages the financial budget across the portfolio of projects for business area supported

  • Forecasts and plans for future financial needs for supported client area

  • Collaborates within IT to ensure adequate flow of project information, resourcing and budgeting

  • Compares, contrasts, and benchmarks services or costs against other

Team Development:


  • Mentors and educates within and across team to ensure a stronger overall IT organization

  • Manages the plans and activities of employees and external contractors in order to achieve stated objectives

  • Evaluates and manages all vendor personnel, addressing performance issues quickly and ensuring adherence to Takeda policies

EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:


  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience (required)

  • Minimum of 10 years of proven Information Systems experience with at least 5 years in leadership/management roles (required)

  • Minimum of 3 years pharma/biotech experience required

  • HEOR (Health Economics and outcomes research) experience is preferred

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Managed Markets in US is preferred

  • Minimum of 7 years managing large complex projects (required)

  • Experience developing, managing and forecasting project budgets and resource allocation needs (required)

  • Knowledge of IT systems compliance requirements (GxP, SOX, etc) (required)

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented matrix organization (required)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (required)

  • Managed Markets and Government Pricing domain knowledge required including familiarity with ModelN / FLEX

  • Knowledge of Managed Markets (Contracts and Pricing) technology trends, technology architectures and business trends. BP should have ability to define business processes and models and align those processes and models with cost effective operational and strategic technologies

  • Ability to understand and collaborate at the operational level as well as provide critical insight and input at the strategic level across all Contracts and Pricing business functions and their key stakeholder groups

  • Possess the ability to build relationships and influence individuals at all levels of the organization at a local, regional and global level. The position requires a high level of interpersonal skills, the ability to effectively communicate, negotiate and synthesize complex information

  • Strong customer focus and a consultative orientation. BP is requested to perform as an effective internal consultant from both technology and business perspective. Requires the ability to frame complex problems and ‘sell’ simple and complex solutions to internal clients.

  • Ability to develop, articulate and execute an IT strategy aligned with business needs

  • Lead and motivate technical teams; communicate and collaborate across IT
