Cheese Packaging Lead is responsible for oversight of Cheese Packagers and the operation of Cheese Packaging Department. This position will train Cheese Packagers on proper procedures concerning packaging and cleaning within department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Help plant automation and mechanics to troubleshoot production problems and give assistance to operators and management.
Train packagers to follow proper procedures for the job to which they are assigned.
Ensure production stays on time and handle any production changes as they arise.
Ensure quality procedures are followed at all times.
Train packagers on cleaning procedures for shutdown on all packaging rooms and proper CIP and production set up.
Ensure the release of rework and documentation control on FIFO and record rework into production.
Understand and comply with all Quality Assurance policies, and immediately report any potential food safety issues to management.
Understand Plant Quality procedures and ensure compliance on your shift.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Position may involve operation of a Critical Control Point as determined by the plant HACCP/Food Safety Plans.
Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
Support safety policies and programs.

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum three (3) years of experience in a related field preferred.
Ability to read, understand, and adhere to documents and procedures (GLP, SOP, SDS, GMP, test procedures, and HACCP).
Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work.
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Basic computer operational skills; able to input and retrieve computerized information.
Ability to follow written, verbal and diagrammatic instructions; complete simple checklists and complete required documentation.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Communicate well both verbally and in writing with managers and colleagues.
Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills.
Decisions administered soundly and consistently with policies and in compliance with appropriate laws and regulations.
Demonstrate functional and technical knowledge, ability to learn new skills quickly, and achieve a high level of accomplishment.
