The Lancaster Ready-to-Eat Cereal Plant, a TreeHouse Private Brands site, is currently looking for a Quality Technician to join our team. This is an opportunity to join a recognized and growing company within the food manufacturing industry. The Quality Technician reports to the Quality Team leader and provides support for the sanitation operation of the plant by performing cleaning and maintaining specific areas in the plant. Providing utility support for sanitary products in all processing areas.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Maintain roof- remove fines and emissions, maintain records of amounts removed.
  • Assist in wet clean-ups and performs air handling cleaning.
  • Assist with the maintance of outside roadways and walkways during adverse weather conditions, including but not limited to snow and ice removal and/or spreading salt (backshift).
  • Clean and sanitize wash rooms.
  • Inspect and clean as necessary all hand wash stations and drinking fountains.
  • Follow dust mop collection schedule.
  • Participates in deep cleaning according to Master Sanitation Schedules.
  • Project work as assigned.
  • Inform Management of any processes which become non-compliant with specified requirements and ANY Safety, Food Safety, or Quality related issues.
  • Responsible for following all plant rules, Safety requirements, and Good Manufacturing Practices


Other Duties:

  • Perform inventory or janitorial supplies, unload and stores supplies
  • Clean elevator doors.
  • Assist in maintain walls, framework, overheads, etc., for sanitary painting purposes and removal of peeling paint.
  • Backfill all other areas covered by sanitation team., including, but not limited to: grounds keeping, railcar inspections, air handling systems, environmental program sampling, pest control, and janitorial service, product safety projects, inspections, and audits.


Working Relationships:
  • Internal - Working relationship with all employees and Team Leaders in plant.
  • External - Works with outside vendors.
  • Able to work independently; Receives supervision from Sanitation Team Leader.


Physical Demands:
  • Frequent periods of standing and walking.
  • Frequent periods of sitting and riding on equipment.
  • Frequent bending and twisting
  • Occasional lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 75 pounds.
  • Frequent climbing steps and ladders and, on occasion, heights reaching 50 - 75 feet.
  • Ability to operate equipment with hand and foot controls.
  • Adequate vision and hearing.
  • Good manual dexterity


Qualifications Required:

  • Education : High School Diploma or G.E.D.


  • Experience (Years/Type) : 1-3 years of Janitorial experience; in a food plant is preferred.
