What contribution will I make to Helen of Troy?
The Brand Protection Manager will provide comprehensive support in the implementation and enforcement of Helen of Troy's worldwide brand protection and enforcement strategy, including such brands as OXO, Hydro Flask, and PUR. This role will work with and at the direction of the Company's Assistant General Counsel in supporting (and where capable handling) various day-to-day activities involved in fighting counterfeit consumer goods, illegal parallel trade, and knockoff products.
What you'll be doing
Coordinate all internal functions such as interaction with business units, training materials, product authentication, etc.
Assist in reviewing suspected counterfeit products.
Primary contact with outside brand protection vendors and investigators.
Assist with evidence gathering to support enforcement actions, especially related to counterfeit products on online platforms.
Track and gather metrics for all brand protection actions.
Develop and manage brand protection database.
Analyze trends and make recommendations based on the above data or seizure reports.
Liaise with Customs and law enforcement agencies to provide training and support.
Work with enforcement authorities to authenticate and seize counterfeit goods.
Other tasks related to the brand protection and enforcement.
Maintain regular communications with the Assistant General Counsel on all brand protection activities.
Some travel domestically and internationally.
What are the requirements for consideration?
Undergraduate Degree plus minimum three to five years of experience in anti-counterfeiting enforcement or in-house brand protection.
Must have experience handling the duties described below in a corporate brand protection department, investigation firm or IP unit at customs or other relevant law enforcement agency.
Experience traveling and working in developing countries, especially Asia Pacific region.
Excellent writing abilities for reports and internal communications.
Ability to think analytically and resolve problems.
Fluency with MS Office products (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access), data management and reporting and basic digital photography.
Basic understanding of Intellectual Property including patents, trademarks, trade dress, and copyright.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced and constantly evolving work environment.
