LinQuest is seeking a Payroll Assocate to join our team at our office in Los Angeles.
The payroll associate might be required to process the entire payroll from start to finish. He/She reviews and calculates time cards and makes applicable changes. He/She computes wages and salaries, performs mandatory and voluntary deductions, and generates direct deposit files and paychecks and pay stubs. An effective payroll associate understands federal, state and local wage and hour policies and employment tax laws. His/Her duties sometimes go beyond payroll processing, as they are usually required to work with related departments such as human resources and finance or accounting.
Timekeeping & Labor Distribution
Process electronic timesheets from Timekeeping system to the Accounting system.Analyze labor distribution and record billable and unbillable hours recorded on the timesheets
Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.Updates payroll records by entering changes employee changes on payroll taxes, insurance coverage, deductions, job titles, and department/division transfers.Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer's social security, and unemployment taxes.Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.Tax accounts and benefits reconciliation.Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
