Job Description:

The Director & Actuary, Process Transformation Lead, is a new position within the Retirement Valuation and Projections team that will play a critical role in spearheading the team's implementation of Prudential's Future of Work initiative.


Primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop a comprehensive process transformation strategy for Retirement Valuation and Projections to revolutionize current processes, and regularly meet with senior management to ensure alignment with overall vision and objectives

  • Lead process modeling exercises and understand process mapping methodology to establish “Future State” layouts that reduce manual intervention and process downtime

  • As the valuation subject matter expert, direct a cross-functional development team to create innovative solutions and tools supporting new business onboarding, financial reporting, projections, and analytics by leverage agile principles to drive continuous exploration and development of process enhancements with on-demand deployment

  • Partner with Pricing, Finance, Client Services, and other stakeholders to optimize touchpoints and collaboration where upstream dependencies and painpoints exist

  • Connect with peers across the Actuarial organization to identify and address systemic roadblocks and incorporate best practices

  • Support the implementation of R&D initiatives and execution of strategic objectives

  • Be an active participant in Prudential’s actuarial community


  • FSA or career ASA with at least 8 years of actuarial experience.

  • Strong aptitude in Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic is required.  Experience with analytical software packages (e.g., R, MATLAB, SAS, etc.), data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, etc.), or related languages (e.g., Python) is strongly preferred.

  • Experience in valuation, financial reporting, and/or pension risk transfer or other group annuity products is preferred.

  • Proven track record of being a strategic thinker and execution focused, with the ability to execute effectively as an individual contributor within a matrix operating model

  • Ability to effectively prioritize competing demands and drive projects to completion

  • Fast learner with strong technical and analytical background
