Imagine One is currently seeking a wide range of candidates for "contingent" openings supporting future work on a Navy program. We are seeking a Senior SQL Database Administrator (DBA) who will be supporting Information Technology (IT) efforts. This position will provide database administration and maintenance for legacy and future systems; this includes developing an application from inception. The Senior SQL DBA will provide support for Microsoft-based systems and applications.
The SQL DBA will provide a range of support for prototypes, piloting applications, and for full engineering projects. They will manage projects through the project management and lifecycle development approach, producing management plans and system documentation. They will offer guidance on the policy and governance of any item is developed, as well as fully document processes and functionality of items being developed.
The SQL DBA will support and respond to trouble tickets, this includes troubleshooting portal sites and user accounts, making modifications to an existing portal site, and managing permissions of portal sites. The SQL DBA will perform tasks, such as performance tuning and database maintenance, performing system management and administrative functions and maintaining a complete and accurate library of system documentation.
Experience & Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University and 10+ years of experience providing database development and administration support or Master's Degree and 8 years of said experience.
Capable of developing a database based on requirements gathered
Experience managing servers, and application environments critical to business processing. This includes working with application teams responsible for hosted apps, performing application and OS updates as needed, and maintaining server security and compliance as required by policy and standards.
Experience performing daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes.
Working knowledge of MS SQL, ORACLE, FoxPro, and MYSQL databases. Ability to manage and maintain database backups, define and control database replication needs, and development of database triggers and stored procedures under the direction of Senior Programmers and Project Managers.
Experience developing, testing, and running data conversion programs.
Familiarity with data management principles and best practices in order to properly store, migrate, and structure data for multiple applications.
Familiar with one or more scripting languages to aid developers on operations, scripts, and triggers to improve database access.
Experience in developing more efficient processes for handling and accessing data, automating recurring tasks, and performing routine maintenance
