This position is responsible for providing management and leadership to the Avangrid Renewables Business Performance group. This group is an integral part of Avangrid Renewables Planning & Analysis department, which will coordinate the budgeting process from the Business side and will perform analysis of the performance of the Business, as well as directing internal efforts in M&A and financing transactions.
This position, reporting to the Vice President of Planning & Analysis, requires a high level of interaction with various departments within Avangrid Renewables (Operations, Development, Origination, Trading, Construction and Planning & Analysis) and within Avangrid (Control, Finance, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, and CEO's Office).
The Business Performance group is primarily accountable for leading general Business processes regarding performance measurement, budgeting and transactions coordination. This position entails consensus building at all levels within the organization, including regular interaction with teams and individuals both in the Business and the Corporate functions, as a key role is to ensure reliability and consistency of the information shared from the Business with Corporate groups, as well as challenging assumptions in different internal Business' processes (budget, projections, etc.). In summary, the key activities with which the department is involved include:
Managing budget preparation, tracking and revisions. Owning all budget processes within the Business, including data gathering and elaboration, serving as an interface with the Control group.
Driving performance tracking and benchmarking of KPI of the business.
Create tools for analysis from the Business perspective
Challenge assumptions and propose actions to improve performance of the Business
Elaborating specific reporting on business metrics/results and ad-hoc analysis.
Supporting to the CEO to coordinate internal processes and documentation decks.
Coordinating and centralizing internal efforts of the Business for corporate transactions:

Provide hands on direction and oversight around the work of the Business Performance group, responsible for measuring the performance of the Business and leading and integrating the budgeting process in coordination with the Control group, as well as coordinating efforts around corporate transactions and engaging with corporate groups like Corporate Development and Investor Relations, ensuring the reliability of the information shared.
The Business Performance team is also a critical driver for strategy development. In this regard, the group is responsible for providing pro-forma projections of the long term view of the Business.
This leadership position is an integral part of growing and protecting value in Avangrid Renewables through rigorous performance analysis along with understanding and coordinating internal processes, including those affecting key strategic transactions.
Experience in the utility/energy industry with more than 8 years of financial analysis experience.
An ability to interface and interact with all levels of the business.
Demonstrated strong technical and leadership skills with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
A deep understanding of the US energy/renewable market.
A strong project management and quantitative background.
A solid background in effectively interfacing with stakeholder groups and other public entities as required.
Proven experience working with both regulated and non-regulated energy markets and a keen understanding of power system operations and the commercial decision areas of an energy company.
A bachelor's degree in economics, finance, or related field is required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong presentation skills, combined with written and verbal communication skills are a must.
Master's Degree or MBA preferred.
