Manage a complex, manufacturing and services-oriented, multi-state payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws using Workday
Manage third party relationships for payroll settlement of foreign payrolls (primarily three Canadian locations).
Manage corporate payroll including compliant and auditable processing of all C-Suite payroll information (Workday)
Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and other applicable rules and regulations in accurately processing payroll, withholding taxes, garnishments and deductions.
Subject matter expert on all payroll processes and procedures, including but not limited to, extra on-cycle payrolls, off-cycle payrolls, year-end processing, retro-active payments, quarterly/annual tax processes, etc.
Ensure the system is monitored and maintained to ensure security and audit control is preserved.
Point of contact for payroll issues and engages appropriate resources for resolution.
Administer periodic audits and review of process, systems and output to ensure payroll processing is achieving accurate intended results and all security restrictions are functioning.
Develop, recommend, and implement systems and/or procedural changes to enhance efficient processing of payroll data.
Provide ongoing communication, training and strong leadership to the payroll team including coaching, mentoring and supervising both team and individual performance and productivity goals.
Actively manage key internal relationships with Finance, Human Resources, Risk Management, Legal, A/P, A/R, Tax, IT and other departments/contacts, as appropriate.
Serve as the point of contact for the above-mentioned departments for any and all payroll information requests.
Actively manage any system upgrades or conversions to ensure the accuracy, timeliness and integrity of all payroll functions and data.
Actively manage the integration of the payroll function of any acquisitions that are made.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or other related field.
4 or more years of large payroll processing experience (1000+ employees) that includes exposure with Benefits and 401(k)s.
Experience with the Workday application generally and the Workday payroll module in particular.
3 or more years of management experience in a Payroll or Human Resources department.
Ability to administer executive pay in a compliant and confidential manner.
Strategic thinker with experience implementing continuous improvement projects.
Ability to handle complex payroll issues.
Strong organizational skills and high detail-orientated professional capable of effective problem solving with strong leadership skills.
Strong belief in Payroll's role to be a valued-added internal service provider to organization.
Ability and willingness to work overtime as required.
Ability to travel to other company locations.
