NTT DATA Services currently seeks a Smart Hands Consultant to join our team in Providence, Rhode Island (US-RI), United States (US).

Basic Qualifications:

5 years - Linux Administration
5 years - VmWare Administration
5 years - LDAP
4 years - Cisco UCS Server
4 years - Puppet


Enhanced Smart Hands Services All activities require detailed step by step instructions from the requestor for the data center to complete.

* Installation and Removal of IT equipment

* Install equipment in designated cabinet, rack, floor location

* Unrack and remove equipment from designated cabinet, rack, floor location

* Perform data wipe on IT equipment

* Assemble equipment and components

* Basic device configuration and OS Loads

* Set IP and MAC addresses.

* Perform firmware and BIOS level upgrades/downgrades

* Provide OS and Software support (Network, Server, Alt. Platforms, Mainframe, Storage)

* Load Server and network OS and software configurations following provided instructions

* Configuration of out of band (OOB) and remote management connections (i.e. DRAC, ILO, etc.)

* Local command execution per provided detailed instructions

* Physical Device Configuration Support

* Install reseat, and replace device cards, blades, hard drives

* Perform technical installation/replacement of device internal components on non-enterprise level devices including but not limited to: Memory, batteries, and system boards

* Execute the appropriate RMA (Return Merchandise Agreement) processes according to maintenance agreements

* Perform physical modifications to the hardware per requested and planned activities

* Technical troubleshooting and device investigation

* Replacement of customer replaceable parts

* Device Management & Testing

* Send and receive information and files via FTP and other transfer methods

* Set up remote terminal session and screen sharing

Education and Certifications:

Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

One of the following certifications is required:
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
Red Hat Certified Virtualization Administrator (RHCVA)
Oracle Linux Administrator (OCA)
Oracle Linux Certified Implementation Specialist
Managing Oracle on Linux Certified Expert
Senior Level Linux Certification (LPIC-3)
Preferred: ITIL v3 Foundation Certification
