Sr. Manager, League Operations – Apex Legends Competitive Gaming

Reports to Sr. Director & Commissioner - Apex Legends Competitive Gaming

We are building a global team to strategically drive competitive gaming for Apex Legends. We are looking for passionate, determined, and humble individuals with the imagination to innovate and lead in the industry. Together we will inspire the world to play competitively and make stars of all our players.

 

A key part of the team is the Sr. Manager of League Operations. You’ll lead key projects that will shape the success of Apex Legends competitive gaming. Your collaborative mindset will help build partnerships both internally and externally to ensure that all tournaments run smoothly. You’ll join a tightly integrated team that crafts strategies to drive the business forward by focusing on what excites our players and drives engagement.

Responsibilities


  • Design the competitive structures to drive increased year-round engagement and monetization

  • Deliver best-in-class online and live competitions by partnering with 3rd party production teams to craft an unforgettable live event experience for our professional competitors and spectators

  • Work with internal and external partners to support online and live competition with detailed roadmaps, in-game functionality, and operation plans

  • Monitor, determine, and surface internal and industry insights and best practices to inform the strategic approach and competition management

  • Oversee the development of the competitive ruleset and player discipline

  • Collaborate on the further development of the informational website

  • Foster strong, collaborative relationships with internal cross functional teams, such as Marketing, Global Analytics, Legal, Events, Competitive Gaming Operations, Asia Competitive Gaming, and Web

 

Requirements


  • A motivated self-starter with 5+ years’ experience leading best-in-class eSports programs to deliver demonstrable engagement and monetization returns.  

  • Proven track record in defining eSports strategies, in designing compelling tournament programs, and in building strong partnerships.

  • Strong organizational, planning and interpersonal skills; with an ability to motivate and influence key stakeholders across multiple disciplines and at all levels.

  • Flexible and dynamic with the ability to work independently and adapt to changing goals and objectives.  

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Exceptional attention to detail, ability to multitask, and maintain composure

  • Excellent communication (written & verbal) and presentation skills across all levels of an organization

  • Excellent creative and strategic thinking

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize

  • Ability to work on call, work on weekends, and travel internationally

Desirable Assets


  • Passion for Apex Legends

  • Fluency in more than 1 language
