This position supports the work of the Y, a leading charity committed to strengthening community. Creates a safe environment with an appropriate curriculum and program for the specialty area of Science. Facilitates STEM activities and programming at YMCA Adventure Camp. Creates positive, nurturing relationships with children, while building cooperative relationships with parents/caregivers. Promotes and supports the potential of all youth in programs and facilitates peer-to-peer connections as part of the overall camp experience.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must have experience in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), related field OR studies.
Certified teacher with Physical Science, Earth Sciences, or related field is preferred.
Previous experience with diverse populations.
CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
1 - 3 years: Working with children in camping, recreation, teaching, childcare or physical education.
High School Diploma/GED or better
Some college or better in Earth Sciences or related field
