We are currently recruiting for a Production Supervisor to support our Paragon Label facility in Petaluma, Ca. The ideal candidate will have experience in the printing or packaging industry. This role will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of press operators by performing the following duties.
Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems and initiates plans to achieve goals.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency and/or reduce setup time, equipment downtime and production scrap.
Trains new Press Operators, including instructions on the proper use of tools and equipment.
Confers with other members of the management team to coordinate activities of individual departments.
Checks production schedule and verifies plates, inks and other required materials are available in advance of an order going to a Press Operator.
Directs setup and adjustments of presses and maintains production records.
Maintains equipment and may make minor repairs when necessary.
Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
Inspects plates, web and other materials to be used in producing a job to verify conformance to specifications and is responsible for verifying color match of jobs to job specs.
Interprets specifications and job orders for workers and assigns duties, adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
Responsible for implementing and following Lean Manufacturing procedures and is a member of one or more Lean Manufacturing development and implementation committees.
Enforces company policies and safety regulations at all times.
Performs activities of workers supervised, keeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standards
Directly supervises personnel in the Press and Finishing departments.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
