Job Description:

Purpose of Position: Assist the Mountain Venue Operations (MVO) Manager with all functions of the department; direct and coordinate daily operations and staffing requirements with Race Hill, Event and Rossignol Test Center Supervisors in the winter and with Grounds Maintenance Supervisors in the summer; assist department operations staff with daily tasks as needed.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous supervisor and/or management experience required.
Must have competent communication, organization, leadership, guest service and retail POS skills.
Proficient computer word processing, spreadsheet, cash register and EDC skills.
Knowledge and understanding of DVR employee policies, Mountain Operations organization and department procedures.
Experienced with Alge race course timing, display and communication equipment set-up, maintenance and repair.
Experienced with alpine ski rental policies, practices and equipment.
Advanced alpine skiing ability with GS/SL and NASTAR course setting experience and venue operations knowledge.
Experienced with a wide range of landscaping equipment and procedures.
Proficient with hand & power tools for light to medium construction projects.


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative:

Assist with department plans, budgets, staff hiring/training, scheduling, Kronos reporting and daily operations with the MVO Manager and supervisors.
Provide and coordinate daily supervision of Grounds Maintenance, Race Hill, Rossignol Test Center and Event Crews with the MVO Manager and seasonal supervisors.
Assist MVO Manager with OPEX proposals, thinking strategically and with DVR's long-term goals in mind.
Develop working relationships with staff and other DVR supervisors and managers as this position requires liaising between every division and department at DVR.
Ensure daily operations procedures and training are compliant with industry safety standards and guidelines.
Work with DVR divisions and departments as well as outside vendors on contracting, scheduling, installing and operating any special event that comes to DVR throughout the year.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of DVR seasonal activities.

Grounds Maintenance:

Ensure all grounds(Iron Horse, Marsac, Deer Valley Plaza, Banner Islands, ROS, Snow Park, Silver Lake, Empire, Cushing's Cabin, etc.) are de-winterized, revived and aesthetically pleasing as soon after the winter season as possible in an effort to make DVR into a world renowned four season attraction; This requires constant vigilance, care and maintenance.
Construct and maintain the concert venue including the stage, "clamshell" tent, ramps, fencing, sound pit, speaker towers, portable restrooms area, entrance of the venue, etc.; Work with outside vendors on contracting, scheduling and installs.
Assist with flower order, planting, maintenance and weeding of all resort railing boxes, planters and perennial beds.
Keep all grounds in top shape throughout the season including mowing, trimming, weeding, staining of fences, etc.
Maintain and repair varying irrigation systems resort wide as needed; Remain vigilant as issues occur daily.
Work with the SLVPOA in their efforts to improve aesthetics.
Ensure the stand-up paddleboard venue at Deer Valley Plaza is maintained.
Maintain and change out banners as needed on the Deer Valley Drive islands.
Maintain and repair sidewalks, bridges and benches in the ROS and resort wide.
Work with banquets and sales coordinators on the operational planning and setup of any wedding or special events; Remain flexible with their varying requests.
Ensure all outdoor, parking lot and dog waste garbage is removed continually and keep all pavers cleaned as needed.
Ensure masonry repairs resort wide are completed on a yearly basis.
Ensure ski racks resort wide are transported to their locations during the winter and summer seasons; Repair and stain on a yearly basis.

Race Hill:

Ensure daily Race Hill operating procedures are compliant with DVR procedures and safety guidelines for both employees and guests; Work with patrol on any accident reporting.
Work with group sales on the operational planning, setup and execution of any special events at the Race Hill including group races, tent events, etc.
Verify accuracy of daily accounting forms, closing procedures and reports.
Ensure the DVR Employee Ski Race Series is planned, organized and implemented.
Ensure all on mountain structures are maintained and repaired during the summer season.

Rossignol Test Center:

Ensure daily Test Center operating procedures are compliant with DVR procedures, safety guidelines and accepted industry safety practices; Work with Patrol on any accident reporting.
Ensure demo ski fleet is appropriate for DVR guests, in top condition and maintained regularly to be a good representation of the Rossignol product and DVR level of guest service.
Verify accuracy of daily accounting forms, closing procedures and reports.
Ensure the season long operating costs are tracked accurately for division between Rossignol Corporation and DVR.
Ensure the Test Center demo ski sale is planned, organized and implemented.
Ensure all on mountain structures are maintained and repaired during the summer season.

Events:

Ensure Freestyle World Cup field of play and the surrounding venue is compliant with FIS guidelines.
Ensure all operating procedures are compliant with DVR procedures, safety guidelines and accepted industry safety practices; Keep employee, athlete and guest safety paramount.
Ensure all on mountain structures are maintained and repaired during the summer season.
