Job Description:













































































1.

Provide efficiencies in managing patients and scheduling of appointments.

2.

Develop strong organizational structure, workflow and operating procedures for medical practice under the direction of the Physician Services Director per hospital standards and procedures.

3.

Assist the Outpatient Clinical Director as requested in the implementation of policies and procedures that are consistent with those of Family Health West, to ensure efficient and safe operation of the practice’s outpatient services. 

4.

Manage credentialing matters related to physician and any other business matters related to staff privileges.

5.

Promote existing and new programs and/or policies of Family Health West and the outpatient clinics both internally and externally, exhibiting professional and respectful behavior to others at all times.

6.

Direct patient contact assisting with intake, registration, escorting and assisting providers with duties as assigned. 

7.

Demonstrate fiscal responsibility.

8.

Follow up on patient referrals that have not yet scheduled an appointment.

9.

Call for authorization for Worker’s Compensation patients.

10.

Submit for authorization of treatment/procedures to insurance companies.

11.

Mail informational packets to patients as needed.

12.

Prepare and send all referrals/documentation to outside providers.

13.

Scan all documentation into patient electronic chart.

14.

Provide training to new employees and fellow staff members.

15.

Verify insurance eligibility on all patients.

16.

Request documentation from outside providers and scan documentation into Cerner/PCIS.  Access records from QHN and Papervision as needed.

17.

Develop training manual and provide training to new employees and fellow staff members.

18.

Responsible for auditing all processes of each MOS, not limited to copays, eligibility, registration, customer service, etc.

19.

Coordinate daily staffing of each MOS position within Specialty Clinics.

20.

Facilitate regularly scheduled meetings with each practice MOS staff to go over any issues, new processes, etc.

21.

Understand the workflow of each practice and be able to fill in/float when needed.

22.

Project Coordinator for all changes with EMR/MOS functions, acting as the liaison between practices and IT.

23.

Order office supplies.

24.

Facilitate monthly meetings with billing/coding to create /implement standard workflows across the specialty clinics.

25.

Other job related duties as assigned.
