Golder is seeking a motivated individual to join the Jacksonville, Florida office as an Entry-Level Civil Engineer supporting teams on civil, geotechnical, and environmental projects that involve field work, CAD design, construction oversight, data evaluation, engineering analysis and assisting with report preparation.
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Perform field assignments such as groundwater and/or soil sampling, aquatic sampling, drilling supervision, borehole logging, test pit logging, site reconnaissance, and construction quality assurance (CQA) monitoring to support project specific data/information collection requirements.
Be willing and able to work on projects involving landfills and other lined structures, underground facilities, and other civil applications.
Project assignments may include local, national, and international travel with possible short-term or long-term assignments at project sites.
Assist with writing proposals, reports, cost estimating, specifications, and permit documents with senior technical advice and review.
Communicate closely with team members.
The successful candidate may possess the following preferred skills and qualifications:
Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or equivalency, with passing F.E. (E.I.T).
0-2 years relevant experience
Strong computer skills and experience with industry standard commercial computer software including: Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and/or various engineering software.
Familiar with engineering field skills such as field measurement and mapping, soil sampling, and groundwater sampling.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with being detail oriented, strong analytical skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work both independently and on teams.
Willingness to obtain 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER health and safety training certification and to work on sites that are potentially impacted by releases of regulated chemicals.
A willingness to perform a variety of assignments on short notice is valuable.
It is also beneficial to be comfortable in remote settings, with a can-do attitude, and a willingness to perform a variety of tasks as needed to complete an assignment and satisfy project demands.
