The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a(n) Production Operator you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:


  • Daily engagement at Lean crew meetings; participating in safety, productivity and cost improvement initiatives.

  • Work with Engineering and R&D to resolve process problems and scale up new products.  Continuously monitor products, equipment and document in-process quality.

  • Follow standard operating procedures to run production equipment making heat-shrink tubing that meets or exceeds customer and industry quality standards.

  • Assist other operators in the proficient utilization of all equipment and processes.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:


  • Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution (completed and verified prior to start).

  • Minimum one (1) year of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:


  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment

  • Experience in the areas of extrusion processing/finishing equipment, lean manufacturing, quality systems, and experience with hand measurement tools.  Packaging/labeling for shipments.

  • Skills include ability to communicate written and verbally.  Ability to work in a team environment, with a focus on safety, quality and productivity.

  • Basic computer knowledge.
