Job Summary
Under the direction of the Spaulding Rehabilitation Network Director of Patient Safety & Quality, the Project Specialist will work with the Quality & Compliance team on a number of different quality and patient safety initiatives. The Project Specialist will facilitate communication across network facilities, manage projects, analyze data and provide support to decision making. The Project Specialist provides leadership and staff support for internal and external quality measurement and reporting, and is accountable for timely, accurate and valid data submission.

Key Responsibilities
Manage Quality and Compliance databases, spreadsheets and other data management systems to support organizational performance, quality management, process improvement, patient safety, risk management and outcomes data management.
Administrator of the SRN Acute Transfer Database. Responsible for management and support of software application including customization, ongoing configuration of software, training of management team and staff, support, trouble shooting, testing, quality management, maintenance and report generation.
Develop and manage all aspects of assigned projects including scope, requirements, project plans, communication and issue resolution. Provides project management for the PCC Acute Transfer Committee.
Complete quantitative and qualitative analyses to support the objectives of assigned projects.
Develop project related deliverables with minimal supervision including project plans, PowerPoint presentations, status reports, meeting minutes, issue/risk logs and meeting facilitation documents.
Manages multiple end user requests simultaneously and ensures appropriate follow-up on action and communication to the end users.
Troubleshoot problems, identify potential solutions and work with team to resolve data-related issues.
Queries, reports, and presentation data are provided with timely and accurate data.
Quality data reporting activities are coordinated in collaboration with data abstractors, physicians, administrative leaders and external agency contacts to meet stated goals.
Performance improvement activities are coordinated to establish standardization across Spaulding Rehabilitation Network.
Confidentiality is maintained for all Performance Improvement and Risk Management information including all Medical Staff Peer Review activities.
Additional department, organization, or network activities are completed per established objectives.

Qualifications and Experience
Bachelors Degree required preferably in Computer Science or Business. Masters Degree desirable.
Three years experience in database management in both small and large databases preferred.
Healthcare experience preferred.
Strong quantitative, analytical and technical skills relating to data management, analysis and presentation (experience analyzing and manipulating data sets and creating effective presentations).
Strong PC application skills including Word, Advanced Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to access and validate data from different data repositories using MS Access and SQL.
Strong organizational, administrative and project management skills.
Ability to develop effective relationships and communications with a broad array of people (different levels of management and clinical experts.

Physical Environment
Potential exposure to blood, blood products, body fluids and chemical hazards. Attend meetings in a variety of external organizations, healthcare facilities, and other venues.
