A unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor of creating a world-class corporate tax department for a new public company.  Elanco is building their Corporate Tax team and is seeking an individual who has a passion for advancing the capabilities of technology such as, SAP 4 Hana, cloud based business applications, project management applications, web tools and tax technologies combined with serving as the key tax subject matter coordinator to support the global organization. Responsibilities :
The Director–Global Tax & Business Solutions is an exciting opportunity in a fast-paced Tax Department reporting directly to the Senior Tax Director.  This position will:

  • Collaborate and advise with the global tax team for lean processes connected with technology and our information systems along with serving as a key corporate tax coordinator supporting the global organization.  

  • Assess the technology and process that impacts new business activities, for synergy opportunities and solutions.  

  • Support evaluating new processes or positions to improve the overall effective tax rate or transactional tax position for the company, directly improving the EPS for the company.  

  • Provide expertise to other process owners regarding tax (IT global design including integration with SAP 4 Hana or other systems).  

The role requires a comprehensive understanding of the intersection of process & technology with technical tax and finance functions in a multinational environment.  The focus will be on delivering lean solutions in the life cycle of tax from enabling strategic solutions with lean processes in our U.S. federal, state, and international tax for the compliance and audit stages. Applicants should also have demonstrable leadership experience and strong interpersonal skills, particularly given that this role has an integral role in relationship management with across the organization.

Key Objective/Deliverables:

  • Influence and support business processes and IT (including ERP).

  • Prioritize projects and define scope decisions.

  • Influence and support implementation teams, as needed, in understanding granular levels of tax related data mappings and SAP configurations.

  • Cross-functional partnerships with transfer pricing, treasury, and supply chain groups to ensure tax optimal product flows.

  • Evaluate business processes and Identify potential tax savings opportunities and corresponding implementations as needed.

  • Provide affiliate information, process, and data support to others area in tax.

  • Identify and evaluate IT solutions/ tools for tax, and implementations as needed.

  • Advise business partners on tax requirements affecting business area(s).

  • Support  global tax organization on projects

  • Support on business development and integration

Basic Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

  • 8+ years tax experience in Big 4, public accounting or multinational corporation

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Elanco does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.

Additional Skills/Preferences :

  • Broad knowledge of tax accounting and compliance

  • Strong planning and research skills

  • Ability to lead and work in a team oriented environment

  • Lean Six Sigma  background

  • Experience with SAP, Corptax Provision software, and BNA/Checkpoint research programs

  • Knowledge of global transfer pricing and related tools

  • Knowledge of indirect tax and other tax laws

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational and self-management skills

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Project Management experience

  • CPA or other key certification

  • Minimal travel; 0-10%

  • Overtime will be required at peak times
