SAP support for the Commercial group included but not limited to:

Business Process Ownership

  • Responsible for leading initiatives and work effectively with application support team in ensuring superior process / system adoption

  • Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define or update business & operations requirements and application goals. Sign off on requirement documents for the IT department  to work on

  • Identify cross-functional topics and ensure the process are aligned across SAP modules and other supporting applications

  • Participate in testing, documentation and implementation of enhancements across the SAP functions within the commercial team / department  

  • Act as Liaison between business users and IT implementation team

  • Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.

  • Participate in and support development of long-term goals for systems and software in conjunction with business needs & objectives.


  • Provide first line support for user issues in the commercial area

  • Act as key / power SAP user within the commercial team

  • Co-ordinate with the IT department in explaining requirements, building the business case and following up with testing and training activities associated with any development / project.

  • Be the single point of contact for the IT team to work with on all application enhancements and issues

  • Provide user support and coordinate resolution of issues to include, root cause analysis, and appropriate escalation as needed.

  • Proactively support the business processes with issue identification, and process optimization on a continuous basis.


  • Five plus (5+) years direct experience using SAP or other ERP platforms

  • Direct, hands-on experience with SAP software is desired

  • Experience liaising with internal & external IT partners is desired

  • Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures, project lifecycle models, etc.
