Job Description:

Do you have environmental field work experience? The Doe Run Company is seeking an Environmental Specialist to assist the Environmental Compliance Manager's efforts at maintaining compliance with state and federal environmental regulations by ensuring proper data collection, analysis and reporting. The position is located in Viburnum, Missouri in the heart of the beautiful Mark Twain National Forest.


Responsibilities:



  • Compliance: Completing compliance monitoring, permitting, and reporting for SEMO and Glover Operations.

  • Field Work: Provide support to and troubleshoot all environmental sampling and analysis for SEMO and Glover.

    • Industrial WTP’s

    • Meteorological Stations

    • Air Monitoring

    • NPDES monitoring



  • Analysis: Read, interpret and remain current on governmental regulations, especially any monitoring requirements.

  • Project Management: Implement and manage projects to enhance sampling and analysis.

  • Implement Systems: Develop and implement systems to manage programs or day-to-day activities of the workforce across all environmental functions.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:



  • OSHA/MSHA safety training.

  • Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

  • Working knowledge of data collection systems, software and hardware.

  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations.

  • Knowledge of current environmental best management practices and compliance techniques/technologies.

Education & Experience:



  • Four to seven (4-7) years environmental field work experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science/Engineering/Chemistry or related degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Valid, current driver's license.
