TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of Roper Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: ROP), is seeking a Software QA Engineer II to join our team in Plano, Texas.
Job Summary: The Software QA Engineer II will be responsible for testing software for reliability, creating test scripts, assist with developing test plans, and ensure defects are properly identified, tracked, and documented.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manual QA Testing
Develop, execute and maintain software test plans and test cases both automated and manual.
Log bugs/issues via an issue tracking tool and help determine priority of reported bugs.
Provide clear reporting on test plan results and report of progress of the test process.
Coordination with QA Manager and Project Managers throughout testing process to ensure correct test and defect status are relayed.
Identifies and recommends defect management strategies
Provide guidance when testers need one on one automation support and work with developers to determine when to automate and what to automate.
End-to-end system integration testing (physical hardware devices, backend database applications, and web-based frontend user interfaces).
Handle special projects or other duties as may be required from time to time.
Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in in Computer Science or Engineering and/or equivalent proven work experience
Required Skills & Experience:
Maintains a professional image and adheres to standards consistent with company policies and procedures.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in software Quality Assurance, software test engineering or software development.
Experience using Ranorex or Test Studio a plus
Jira experience a plus
Experience testing cloud-based applications or distributed systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to perform in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with branch, regional and corporate personnel.
Experience in Agile – SCRUM, Dev Ops environment
Knowledge of Software QA best practices and methodologies.
Experience with communication tools like Slack, Microsoft Teams, Skype, etc.
Expert proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, OneNote, and Google Docs.
Experience testing for PCI/PII compliance.
Experience testing customer facing websites and payment processing.
Experience testing 3rd party interfaces (DMV lookup, money service providers, etc).
Experience in Tolling industry a plus.
Experience with Hardware testing preferred.
Experience with test automation a plus.
Experience with measuring live system performance a plus.
