 SourceAmerica is looking for a talented Sr. Director, Human Resources to join its Vienna, VA-based team.

Job Summary


The Sr. Director leads the team of Human Resources Business Partners who provide full employee lifecycle support across the SourceAmerica organization. This position leads the strategy and delivery of key human resources programs like recruiting, interviewing, on-boarding, performance management, employee relations, succession planning, and terminations. Success in this position requires a strong human resources acumen as well as willingness to collaborate with colleagues on creating value-added programs, clear direction with performance management, having tough conversations with employees at all levels of the organization, and managing one’s time effectively. This position is an individual contributor and reports to the Vice President, Human Resources.


Essential Functions



  • Responsible for leading a team of 3-5 HR Business Partners who support the entire employee lifecycle for employees of all levels in assigned business unit. The employee lifecycle includes recruiting, interviewing/selection orientation, 90-day on-boarding, goal setting, performance management, on-going employee relations, investigations, and terminations.

  • Ensures SourceAmerica has a high-performing HR organization to support its key stakeholders – our employees

  • Reviews and approves position control, organizational design, position leveling, performance management and employee relations activities with assigned Business Unit as outlined by Human Resources leadership.

  • Maintains the highest level of compliance for the organization by thoroughly understanding company policies and administering them appropriately.

  • Analyzes data across to anticipate issues with talent acquisition, talent management, and succession planning

  • Performs additional duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

  • Actively participate in SourceAmerica’s Everyday Performance Management program

  • Cooperate fully with meeting the requirements of the Cooperative Agreement

  • Perform additional duties and participate in special projects as assigned

Required Education, Experience, and Skills


 Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.



  • Five years leading a team of Human Resources professionals in an organization with a national footprint.

  • Ten years relevant experience supporting an organization of at least 100 employees with a combination of recruiting, employee relations, investigations, performance management, and similar.

  • Proven track record of creating, implementing and holding the team accountable for human resources strategy 

  • Ability to manage HR functions in a contemporary fashion using contemporary tools. SourceAmerica uses UltiPro as its HRIS and Payroll system.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills



  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification

  • Previous work for a non-profit organization

OTHER REQUIREMENTS



  • Ability to effectively collaborate with individuals and teams across a 400+ organization with a national footprint

  • Proficiency in MS Office including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including grammar and proofreading skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Capable of working independently and solving problems under time pressure

  • Flexible schedule and some travel required during certain time periods
